Are Nikon Action binoculars as good as the pricier Nikon Action Extreme ATB binoculars?

I'm considering purchasing a pair for astronomy. My friend has recently turned me on to astronomy and now I want to get a good set of binoculars. I want Nikon because that is what she has and they work so good. I was looking at the Nikon website and I have 2 sets picked out that I like, both are 10x50 but one is almost 100 dollars more. The more expensive set has longer eye relief and I think I might need that set because I wear glasses. Any help would be great!

Optically, both are very good. The main difference is the Action Extreme are waterproof. While it’s unlikely that you will take them swimming, the advantage is that waterproof binoculars won’t fog on the inside in cold weather. So it you are planning to use your binoculars in cold (really cold) weather, then Action Extreme should be your choice. However, for most users, Action are perfectly fine.
