The best thing to do is to learn what other astronomy clubs do at their meetings and events. Click on the source links I posted below for some great ideas.
To raise money,
- hold public viewing events and ask for donations,
- charge a membership fee
- teach astronomy classes
To keep you costs minimal, for the star parties, ask your members or visitors to bring some kind of food.
