Astronomy gift ideas?
Gladys Asked:
My girlfriend is turning 16, and she likes astronomy. Any astronomy gift ideas? The most i would want to spend is about $150.
Reply:
Buying somebody else a telescope is a bit chancy, because a telescope is a very personal decision, and, if you don't know what you're doing, may be a big disappointment. I'd say the best gift would be a good book or an astronomy computer program. Any book by Terence Dickinson is a safe bet, but especially NightWatch or Backyard Astronomer's Guide, both published by Firefly. A membership in an astronomy club or a subscription to an astronomy magazine are also great ideas. A astronomy gift certificate to anĀ and telescope store would also be good.

a mag. over 7 just means that when you are out on the water, it is rather hard to keep the image stable. On a very calm day, one could use a higher mag, particularly if you press the binoculars into the bridge of your nose (to create a tripod effect). The benefit of a higher magnification is that distant objects would appear larger. providing, of course, you are able to keep the binoculars stable. This is why 7x mag is recommended for boating. Focus has nothing to do with it.
This sounds good, but you need to indent your paragraphs. You may want to rephrase "lust for learning" because I think I know what you are saying, but it needs to be more specific.
You may also want to explain why you chose engineering, and what do you want to with this? What type of engineer do you want to become?
I agree with you,
but there are only two possibilities, one is that these people which ask these ridiculous questions are really that stupid or two, that these people just try to annoy us with all these questions while themselves of course don't believe in the bullsh**.
