It's my boyfriend's birthday on Tuesday, and I know nothing about telescopes or astronomy! I originally wanted to buy him binoculars, but now I'm not sure, as I've read that you can't see Saturn's rings through binoculars, and this ability is very important to him.

ANy advice would be great, thanks!
My budget could stretch to £150, and I'm from the UK, not USA!

Many thanks for your answers so far, they've been very helpful. What size tleescope should I be looking for, and what do you guys think of this one?
