Cassandra Asked:

What compact binoculars for travel would you recommend for under $100 and under $50?

Are there other specs that I should look out for when selecting a specific model?

I know that a pair of 8x25 binoculars means that is has a magnification of 8x and the higher the second number, the brighter the lenses will be.

Thanks.

The Brunton Lite-Tech line are pretty decent for the price. They are compact and waterproof too.
10X32s are around $100 and 8X32s are around $80.

Other things you should look for are good quality prisms. Bak-4 prisms will give you really good clarity. Nitrogen filled compact binoculars pills without prescription are better too because they wont fog up or get condensation like ones that don't use Nitrogen.
