Recommendations to buy binoculars?

Hi, I am having my anniversary with my boyfriend of two years in about a month and a half. My boyfriends is very into astronomy. I want to surprise him, and I was thinking about buy antibiotics buying a pair of binoculars and taking him somewhere nice to stargaze and try to see the planets. To be honest, I know nothing about this matter, so, i am having a hard time trying to buy some binoculars.. I would really appreciate if you guys could me some recommendations to buy a good pair of binoculars. Thank you
