Yes, most aftermarket stereos will work, but you have to buy an adapter, crutchfield carries them, there about $70.

Some are, some aren't. The faculty is usually pretty vigilant in the first couple labs to watch for people who might pass out. My group just kind of went to it without a second thought. I actually stopped and asked my group "shouldn't we be more bothered by this?" they shrugged it off. If they were afraid, they didn't show it.
